Google Fonts don't load anymore

Hi, for a while now my site renders in Helvetica, so I noticed that the googlefonts are not loading. I’ve disabled all plugins, reset .htaccess and nothing works. Please help.

Hello Marc-André,

Did you follow instructions in this video?

Kind Regards, Roman.

Yes, just look at my site, the default font Raleway isn’t rendering.

Hello Marc-André,

It looks like you did not specify fonts correctly in Customize → Fonts section. Please try to configure your fonts accordingly to the video above once again.

Kind Regards, Roman.

What? Please tell me how because I cannot see it.

Thanks, M-A

Hello Marc-André,

Well, that seems to be correct. You can try to temporarily deactivate all your plugins except Sydney Toolbox and Page Builder by SiteOrigin, activate parent theme, and see if it helps.

Kind Regards, Roman.

Hi Roman, thank you for your response. I have already tried disabling all plugins as stated in my opening post.

As for the parent theme, when I activate it does work! But when I only remove my child theme it doesn’t work.

I don’t know where the problem lies…

Hello Marc-André,

I have just checked basic Sydney Child Theme on my localhost and it didn’t have such problem. So it looks like your particular child theme is causing the issue. Did you do some significant modifications there?

Kind Regards, Roman.

Hi again Roman. Thank you for helping. I will download the Sydney Child Theme and compare to see if there are any discrepancies.

One thing I noticed last night is my main computer and all my iPhones output helvetica. But my laptop shows the correct Raleway and Open Sans Pro? So weird!

Thanks,

M-A

You are welcome Marc-André,

Please feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.

Kind Regards, Roman.

Well since my first question has not been resolved, I have the same question. Maybe you could send this to a colleague if you can’t find a solution or see the problem from your end.

I see that the encoded URL string is returning this:

<link rel=“stylesheet” id=“sydney-fonts-css” href=“https://fonts.googleapis.com/css” type=“text/css” media=“all”>

Instead of this:

<link rel=‘stylesheet’ id=‘sydney-fonts-css’ href=‘https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Source+Sans+Pro%3A400%2C400italic%2C600|Raleway%3A400%2C500%2C600’ type=‘text/css’ media=‘all’ />

Does this help you help me?

Hello Marc-André,

Yes, I saw that problem. As a workaround, you can try to use Easy Google Fonts plugin in order to load those two fonts.

As another workaround, you can try to add the following CSS code in order to manually load those two fonts.

You can add CSS code in Dashboard → Appearance → Customize → Additional CSS (WordPress 4.7 and up).

@import url('https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Raleway');
@import url('https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Source+Sans+Pro');

Kind Regards, Roman.
