Featured post title color

I want to change the color of the title text in the featured post home page widget. I removed the overlay to keep image vibrancy, now the white text is lost. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hello there,

Please try adding this CSS code to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS from dashboard.

    .widget_athemes-featured-posts-type-b .sticky-post .post-title-standard,
    .widget_athemes-featured-posts-type-b .sticky-post .post-title-big,
    .widget_athemes-featured-posts-type-b .sticky-post .post-meta,
    .widget_athemes-featured-posts-type-b .sticky-post .post-meta a {
      color: #fff000;
    }

To add more contrast, you might need to add a text shadow.

    .widget_athemes-featured-posts-type-b .sticky-post .post-title-standard,
    .widget_athemes-featured-posts-type-b .sticky-post .post-title-big,
    .widget_athemes-featured-posts-type-b .sticky-post .post-meta,
    .widget_athemes-featured-posts-type-b .sticky-post .post-meta a {
      color: #fff000;
      text-shadow: 0px 2px 1px rgba(150, 150, 150, 1);
    }

Use this tool to help you get the shadow effect fits to you:

Thanks Kharis,
I am not entirely thrilled with how this came out, but you have provided a very good solution. I wish there was a way to have an overlay behind only the text and not the entire image. Do you happen to have any suggestions for that?
Thanks for your help!
Best,
Erica

Hello there,

Try adding this CSS code:

    .widget_athemes-featured-posts-type-b .sticky-post .this-contents {
      background-color: rgba(0,0,0,0.3);
      padding: 5px;
    }
