Featured image size on single posts

Hello everyone!

I’ve a problem with the featured image on the single post !

On my frontpage everything is Ok, the pictures have the right size

But when I’m in the single post, the max-width of the thumbnail is 125px and becomes a square ! (Neither in my css, function.php nor in my WP options I have specified this size)

for exemple :

First I’ve developed my website on a “test” wordpress and database and I haven’t this problem, the thumbnail has the same size as on the front page.

but when I’ve upload my real website with the same file…it’s the only difference ! I’ve compare all the page, css and reboot all my wordpress, but this stupid square still here !

Is it possible that the problem comes from something directly in my database? (This is the only difference between the two sites)

I’m sorry, my problem is not really clear but I really hope somone will able to help me !

Thanks a lot for your great job anyway :slight_smile:

Hello @morgane,

I have just checked your website and it looks like it has something to do with post thumbnails sizes that are set in functions.php file. Can you check it?

Kind Regards, Roman.

Hello Roman !

Thank you for your reply !

Yes there are lines about thumbnail in my function files

add_theme_support( 'post-thumbnails' );

add_image_size( 'thumb-small', 50, 50, true );

add_image_size( 'thumb-medium', 300, 135, true );

add_image_size( 'thumb-featured', 640, 250, true );

But for exemple, when I change for the featured 250 to 400, nothing change BUT when I change 250 to 100… the image still a square but 100x100… so there is an other file who fixe this size come into conflict with function.php ?

And in the test ver. it’s the same fuction.php so I really don’t understand why the result isn’t the same !

Well, thanks again for your reply, it’s reassuring ! :slight_smile:

God… I’ve just try to regenerate all the Thumbnails and…it works…

I feel so studid, but thanks for your reply anyway !!

You are welcome @morgane! :slight_smile:

Please feel free to ask any other questions that you might have in future.

Kind Regards, Roman.
