Feature image: poor quality

Hi,

I have sydney theme and look for this topic, and tried the solution proposed, which is:
div.service-thumb > img {
max-width: 80px;
}

But it didn’t work for me.
In the link below, you can see features images in the post, and are uploaded at the same quality and size that the others, but the difference is quite big from images in posts and quality is really bad.

Can you please advise on how to proceed?

thanks

Hello @sergiosigler,

Please try to do the following.

  1. Create and activate a child theme.

  2. Copy content.php file from parent theme folder to child theme folder.

  3. Open content.php file in child theme folder with a text editor.

  4. Replace the_post_thumbnail('sydney-large-thumb'); with the_post_thumbnail(); in 11th row.

  5. Save your changes.

Please feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.

Kind Regards, Roman.

Hi @Roman,

I am sorry to ask this, but cannot find where to create the child under wp-content/themes directory in my wordpress (not given much info about that in the thread you attached)

Could I just install sydney child theme below as step1, and from there do the rest of the steps?

Or will I still need to know where wp-content/themes is so I can modify it?

Regards

Hello @sergiosigler,

Yes, you can do this as step 1.

However, you still have to access /wp-content/themes/ through SFTP or cPanel in order to do other steps.

Kind Regards, Roman.

Hi @Roman,

It did work, thanks a lot.

The only thing is that header slider,fonts and style got reseted, and will need to redo, is that normal?

Thanks

Regards

Yes @sergiosigler, that is normal.

Every theme has its own storage of options in site database, even if it’s a child theme.

Please let me know if you need more help.

Kind Regards, Roman.
