Edit footer text

Can I either edit or remove the footer text?! Preferably without creating a childtheme.

Would be great if anyone could help me!

Hello @adgadg,

Please go to your Dashboard -> Appearance -> Editor -> select Theme Footer (footer.php) from the right Templates sidebar -> replace <?php do_action('athemes_footer'); ?> with some other text -> repeat after every theme update.

If you can not locate footer.php in Editor, please use FTP or cPanel and go to public_html -> wp-content -> themes -> fashionistas -> find footer.php.

Please feel free to ask any additional questions you might have.

Best Regards, Roman.

THANKS! It did just fine!

You are welcome @adgadg!

I am glad that it helped you to resolve your issue :slight_smile:

Best Regards, Roman.

Has something changed? I located the Footer.php but can’t find the
<?php do_action('athemes_footer'); ?>
part of teh php code.

Here is a copy of the file::

 * The template for displaying the footer.
 * Contains the closing of the #content div and all content after
 * @package Sydney
	</div><!-- #content -->

		$footer_hide = get_theme_mod( 'footer_hide' );
		$footer_credits  = get_theme_mod( 'footer_credits' );

	<?php do_action('sydney_before_footer'); ?>

	<?php if ( is_active_sidebar( 'footer-1' ) ) : ?>
		<?php get_sidebar('footer'); ?>
	<?php endif; ?>

    <a class="go-top"><i class="fa fa-angle-up"></i></a>

    <?php if ( !$footer_hide ) : ?>
	<footer id="colophon" class="site-footer" role="contentinfo">
		<div class="site-info container">
			<?php if ( $footer_credits == '') : ?>
				<a href="<?php echo esc_url( __( 'http://wordpress.org/', 'sydney' ) ); ?>"><?php printf( __( 'Proudly powered by %s', 'sydney' ), 'WordPress' ); ?></a>
				<span class="sep"> | </span>
				<?php printf( __( 'Theme: %2$s by %1$s.', 'sydney' ), 'aThemes', '<a href="https://athemes.com/theme/sydney-pro" rel="designer">Sydney Pro</a>' ); ?>
			<?php else : ?>
				<?php echo $footer_credits; ?>
			<?php endif; ?>
		</div><!-- .site-info -->
	</footer><!-- #colophon -->
	<?php endif; ?>

	<?php do_action('sydney_after_footer'); ?>
</div><!-- #page -->

<?php wp_footer(); ?>

Nothing has changed there, but it looks like you are using Sydney theme, so please check this topic:

Kind Regards, Roman.
