E-commerce and Login Option

Hello Athemes,

I am interested in using the woocommerce and login options. These are customization options correct? Please explain how they would work and where are the widgets to build within?

We have decor we would like to display on our website. We want to add photos and details about the items but don’t wan to reveal pricing unless a user has a login account. Is this possible?

At this time we have added a decor page to our menu but would prefer the woocommerce feature for each items. Example of what we have now http://www.staging.vagencyevents.com/decor/

I look forward to a response!

Sorry, I am not sure about this. Could you please add some more details? Is there any example I can check?

Hi Kharis,

Here is a link to the demo site. I want to use this e-commerce widget or page. https://demo.athemes.com/themes/?theme=Sydney%20Pro

Notice at the top there is a login in as well. https://demo.athemes.com/themes/?theme=Sydney%20Pro

How does all of this work?

Hello there,

From your dashboard (/wp-admin) area, create a new blank page. Enter “Login” for the title. Leave blank the content. In the Page Attributes box, enable “Login” template.

Hi Kharis,

  1. Ok, once a person logins what does that give them access too?
  2. What this the woocommerce on the customize page?

Does it make sense what we are trying to do?

I look forward to a repsonse!

The initial idea of this is to provide an easier way for returning customers to find an access to the their account page and other WooCommerce pages that can only be accessed privately. https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-pages/

If you wish to have a special pages that are only available for registered users, you’re really going beyond theme and WooCommerce feature. Thus you should do additional works – maybe with extra plugins or hire a coder.

Hi Kharis,

Lets talk through the woocommerce account. I have added the login in page to the site. So now that its there how does a customer create an account? Thats where its confusing. It doesn’t have any details how to register. Also, where do you design the woocommerce page? You have to be able to give customers details when they login. Is there another widget we should be using? I assume there needs to be some type of merchant account attached to take orders and payments. Where do we put delivery/shipping information?
There are a lot of details missing for this to work properly.

I look forward to a response!

Users could register through checkout process. See this docs: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/configuring-woocommerce-settings/#section-15

We don’t design them as they’re already available in the WooCommerce system. What you need to do is just to call them by associating selected pages (Dashboard > Pages) to the respective WC pages.

To setup your WC pages, follow this documentation.

Check out this blog post that would explain it better.

Hello there, I am trying to create a login page but it doesn’t give me the option that you are referring to in page attribute template. I am using a staging site and updated the licenses as well.

Hello there,

The login template should present if you use latest version of Sydney Pro. Please check this documentation, in case you haven’t yet upgraded it.
