Different menu items hierarchy for mobile devices?

Hey :slight_smile:
Can I set different menu items only for mobile devices?
I would like to get that the items that are shown in the desktop menu as sub menu items, on mobile devices would be displayed as the main menu items.

For example, now I have in a desktop:

- Home (Menu 1st level item)
- What We Do (Menu 1st level item)
    - Music (Menu 2nd level item)
    - Performance (Menu 2nd level item)
- Contact (Menu 1st level item)

And I would like the mobile menu to be like this:

- Home (Menu 1st level item)
- Music (Menu 1st level item)
- Performance (Menu 1st level item)
- Contact (Menu 1st level item)

Thank you for your help :slight_smile:

Hello,

I don’t think that there is an easy way to do it, unfortunately.

Please feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.

Kind Regards, Roman.

I thought maybe a second menu could be created in:

Apperance -> Menus -> Select a menu to edit

and somehow assign “Primary Menu” to desktops
a newly created “Mobile Menu” for mobile devices?

Hello,

It looks like this issue requires some coding and testing, this goes beyond our support policy. It’s considered advanced customization. As an option, you can contact Codeable for this kind of service, or find a reputable freelancer on Upwork.

Kind Regards, Roman.

I still do not give up hope :slight_smile:
Perhaps theoretically, I found the option of choosing a menu depending on the desktop or mobile. I have created two menus: “Menu 1” and “Mobile Menu”

I noticed that after setting the Primary Menu to “Menu 1” there is a change in the page code:

<div class = "menu-menu-1-container">
<ul id = "menu-menu-1" class = "menu">

And after setting the Primary Menu to “Mobile Menu” there is a change in the code:

<div class = "menu-mobile-menu-container">
<ul id = "menu-mobile-menu" class = "menu">

Is this a good direction? Is the idea how to automatically change the menu depending on:

@media only screen and (max-width: 991px) {
???
}

Hello,

I’m not sure what exactly you did, but that’s not an easy task, really.

Kind Regards, Roman.

You are right, and probably better to think about the structure of the menu so that the list of items would be simplified - probably then the user experience will be better.
Thank you :slight_smile:

Yeah, I think that it would be much better. You are welcome! :slight_smile:
