Custom blockquote styling conflict

#1

Hi,
I am using custom blockquote styling using Elementor custom css and I pretty much get what I want, except I cannot get rid of the light grey vertical bar on the left of the blockquote and I can’t center text. It looks like I can’t get rid of some of the theme’s styling. Can I get custom .css code or do I need to edit the theme’s stylesheet? I am using a child theme of Sydney Pro? Thanks

Hi,

Have you tried this CSS code?

blockquote {
    border-left: 0;
    text-align: center;
}

The code is working for me.

It is working for me too… thank you so much!

Hello again, Awan. Sorry but I have to re-open that thread. While your fix works beautifully with pages set to Elementor full width, once I try to use my custom blockquote style in a page set to default template (with a sidebar), the blockquote becomes a mix of my custom style and theme style. How do I fix that? I have both pro versions for Sydney and Elementor, and I am using a child theme.
Let me know what you suggest, thanks.

Oh I see… Please replace the CSS code in above with this:

blockquote, .hentry blockquote {
    border-left: 0;
    text-align: center;
}

If you want to change the background color, add this:

.hentry blockquote {
    background-color: red;
}
