CSS via row/widget editor

Could you tell me how to add CSS in “Edit row (Edit Widget) -> Attributes -> CSS”?

For example I have something like that:

zzz xxx a:hover {
    background-color: yellow;
}

In class name I should put zzz xxx a:hover
and in attributes background-color: yellow?

Also I wonder if this code will be applied to style.css or somewhere else?

Hi,

Yes, something like that, but that will work only for the row or the widget you try to apply that too, so zzz xxx may not be needed, only a, but I better suggest to use this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css/ - this will allow you to add all your Custom CSS in a single place, so if you want to modify you won’t have to get on to the row / widgets and search for what you try to modify, you will simply have all custom css in a single file / single place, there you have to add like zzz xxx a:hover

Thank you for this suggestion, but using this plugin isn’t the same as addling lines to the style.css in child theme?

Hi,

Yes, it’s about the same, but if you just want to add Custom CSS to your site, then you don’t have to create a child theme, you can just use a plugin like this.
