CSS from Child Theme works for one second only

Hi guys,

Strange thing. On my website https://www.rijnweb.nl/ I have a Moesia Child Theme that worked fine for months now. Suddenly the CSS from my Child Theme works only for one second.

E.g. on the homepage I have the Logo on a certain position but now it creeps back up. Same goes for the textwidgets with the cats in it and the white text in another widget.

You can see the behaviour on my site when you scroll down. Or in this video that I’ve uploaded: https://www.rijnweb.nl/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/CSS-problem-Moesia.mp4

Hope you can help, driving me nuts! :slight_smile:

Hi,

Please try to use !important after every CSS attribute you want to chnage, then let me know how it works.

Best Regards,
Csaba

Hi Csaba,

Thanks but that is not the reason, I’ve lots of !important and besides that, it worked for 6 months now with the same CSS.

It has to do with to Moesia versions, or at least with the moving stuff on the page (like wow fadeInUp animated and welcome-logo wow bounceInDown animated).

I’ve rolled back to 1.36 and everything works again. Please forward these issues to your developers.

Hi,

Can you please post here some of the Custom CSS which doesn’t work in the new version, so I can check why.

Best Regards,
Csaba

Hi Csaba,

These are some of the parts:

@media (min-width: 992px){
.bq-text.col-md-12 {
width: 65% !important;
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
float: none;
}
}

@media (min-width: 992px){
.so-widget-sow-editor.so-widget-sow-editor-base .panel-grid-cell, {
width: 65% !important;
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
float: none;
}
}

@media (min-width: 992px){
div#pgc-2040-2-0,div#pgc-2040-0-0,div#pgc-2040-8-0,div#panel-2040-4-0-1,div#panel-2040-6-0-1 {
width: 65% !important;
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
float: none;
}
}

@media only screen and (min-width: 1080px) {
div#pgc-2040-1-0 blockquote.wow.fadeInUp.animated {
width: 55%;
}
}

@media only screen and (min-width: 1080px) {
div#pgc-2040-7-0 blockquote.wow.fadeInUp.animated {
width: 55%;
margin-left: 50%;
}
}

@media only screen and (min-width: 768px) and (max-width: 1366px) {
.welcome-info {
top: 180px !important;
}
}

.fact-name.wow.fadeInUp.animated {
color: white;
font-weight: 900;
font-size: 24px;
}

div#pgc-2040-11-0 span.wow.bounce.animated {
color:white;
font-weight: 900;

}

@media (min-width: 992px){
div#pgc-2040-3-0 .action-text.wow.zoomIn.animated {
font-size: 48px;
}
}

div#pgc-2040-3-0 .action-text.wow.zoomIn.animated {
color:white;
font-weight: 900;
}

blockquote.wow.fadeInUp.animated {
font-size: 24px;
}

img.welcome-logo.wow.bounceInDown.animated {
margin-top: 10%;
}

@media only screen and (max-width: 992px) {
img.welcome-logo.wow.bounceInDown.animated {
margin-top: 38%;
}
}

Hi,

I have checked this code for example:

@media (min-width: 992px){
.so-widget-sow-editor.so-widget-sow-editor-base .panel-grid-cell, {
width: 65% !important;
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
float: none;
}
}

and it do works correctly, I see that applied and it works.

Best Regards,
Csaba

That’s correct. It works again because I rolled back to Moesia 1.36 (from 1.41).

Hi,

Please update, so I can check why the Custom CSS doesn’t work.

Best Regards,
Csaba

Alright. You can check now.

Olaf

Please let me know when you’re done so I can rollback again.

Hi,

I have inspected a lot from your Custom CSS and they work, can you, please post only the Custom CSS which doesn’t work, so that would be much faster to check why it doesn’t work, my first though is some CSS may not work if you use the animation classes too, so I suggest to remove the .animted.fadeIn… classes, because if you or we change something on them, then they will not work anymore.

Best Regards,
Csaba

Hi Csaba,

That was the clue.

I’ve deleted all the wow and animated stuff in my child theme css and now it works perfect, also in 1.41. Thanks for bearing with me :slight_smile:
