Compatibility issues with PHP7.2 and WP4.9.9

Hi out there,

I use WP 4.9.9, using Moesia Pro, and I have Warnings on my homepage “count(): Parameter must be an array or an object that implements Countable in /homepages/14/d71175075/htdocs/…/wp-includes/post-template.php on line 284” when upgrading from PHP5.6 to 7.2 or lower.

The Warning remains also when all (!) plugins are switched off.

Can anyone help?
Previously it was said to be Jetpack, but it isn’t installed on the staging site.
Is it an option to switch to WP5?
Does Moesia Pro works fine with Gutenberg and WP5? I only read horrible internet messages…

My staging site is

Have a great day,

Hi again,

in case I insert in post-template.php

if (empty($pages)) $pages = [];

directly before line 284, this would be a workaround. But this cannot be the solution. Still the question: an issue with Moesia Pro or an issue with WP 4.9.9? What about migrating to WP 5, is this a risk? Other options?

Hello Knut,

I don’t see that error on my local Moesia Pro install with WordPress 5.0.3 and PHP 7.0.

Regarding the update, please remember about importance of regular full site backups (files and database):

Also you might want to check this tutorial:

I’ll ask our Developer to check this issue as well.

Kind Regards, Roman.

By the way, what is your Moesia Pro version?

Hi there,

We’re aware and we’ll be updating soon.

Hi Roman, that makes me happy, so I eventually can upgrade to WP5…

@Vlad: I understand your comment that you update the theme?

Thnx so much!
Have a great day

Hi Roman,

By the way: I run the latest actual theme version (according to yesterday).

Okay, thank you for the information Knut!

Kind Regards, Roman.

Hi Roman,

might you give me an estimate when the update of the Moesia Pro will occur? That would be great!

Regards, Knut
