Hello, I see the new update for Moesia Pro and Wordpress recommends that I create a child theme before updating so I do not lose any of my customizations. I went into my website’s file manager and created a child theme folder with the functions.php and a styles.css I then copied Wordpress’s code for both of these files. Everything is fine up until I go to activate the child theme in Wordpress, it does not display all of my customizations I made in the actual theme files. It displays all the content, just not my modifications such as fonts, sizes, colors, positions, etc. So my question is how can I make the child theme display all of the customized code I created for the parent theme files. Thank you very much for all the help!
Child themes don’t get the custom settings from the parent theme, it’s the way Wordpress goes.
- Did you not add your custom CSS code in a custom CSS plugin?
- Did you make any sort of PHP changes?
- Why do you need the functions.php file in your child theme?
What I’m trying to say is that if you only made CSS changes and you’ve added them in the plugin, you don’t really need a child theme.
