Changing background color

#1

hi.
Thanks for your usual prompt responses.
I have been trying all to no avail to modify the background of one or two of my pages on a site am working on but this seem just impossible. I installed the custom css plug-in which claims to allow me modify each page as desired but no matter how i format my css, the pages remain untouched. even font attributes are not affected and it is bugging me and scattering my head. Please help out.

The site is here as well as the contact page.
I want the background to have some basic design and not just these plain white color.

Thanks

Hello there,

You can use following custom css code in order to change color for holding containeres and aside area:

/*main container*/
div#content {
    background-color: #ffcc00;
}

/*inner*/
.page-wrap .content-wrapper {
    background-color: #ffcc00;
}

/*aside area*/
#secondary {
    background-color: #ffcc00;
}

And if you want to target specific page, you have to inspect page with google chrome developer tools and to find id class for that page. For example for contact page it is this selector http://screencast.com/t/YH4hx6ycOr so in order to target only contact page you have to use following custom css code:

/*main container*/
.page-id-145 div#content {
    background-color: #ffcc00;
}

/*inner*/
.page-id-145 .page-wrap .content-wrapper {
    background-color: #ffcc00;
}

/*aside area*/
.page-id-145 #secondary {
    background-color: #ffcc00;
}

All the Best!
