Change layout of Category/Archive page?

Hi there,

Loving the theme, looks great! I have been able to customise nearly everything to my liking except the category page. Is it possible to change the layout of this/these pages?

I have categories that are the same as main pages accessible from the main menu. I would prefer that when someone clicks on the category that they are directed to the page i have already designed, not the ‘archive’ page of the category.

If that is not possible, can i change the archive page to look like the blog page?

Let me know what info you need to check out my page as it is not published.

Hello Caleb,

You can create a separate .php template for each category archive, please check this page:

Please feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.

Hi Roman,

Thanks for the reply. I had a read through that info and tried changing a few things in file manager, but the category page still reverts to the archive style page which is the same as the blog page. I don’t fully understand all the words, so i’m clearly missing something.

I don’t actually want to make another .php file for each category. I want the category to direct to the page i have already made.

For example, i have a page called and a category called shark- I want the user whilst on the webpage to click on the category shark and be directed to and not All categories are pages on my website, so each category would re-direct to the relevant page that is already built.

I hope that makes sense. Please let me know if this is possible and what i need to do.

Kind Regards

Hello Caleb,

I think that it’s possible, but it doesn’t look like a theme issue. It looks like a general WordPress issue.

I kindly suggest you to use forums to find a solution.

Kind Regards, Roman.

I have the same problem.
Were you able to resolve it?
My website has a category and I want to redirect it to the page

Thank you very much for your answer.
