Categories not showing Proper URL?

Hello,

For my website TheVenetianMasks.com I currently have a Shop with at https://www.thevenetianmasks.com/shop/

But, when I click on a category for my website such as ANIMALS it will show what the Animal masks are but the URL remains the same https://www.thevenetianmasks.com/shop/

Shouldn’t the URL be https://www.thevenetianmasks.com/shop/animals ?

If so, why is my URL not corresponding to be https://www.thevenetianmasks.com/shop/animals ?

Hi,

Seems likely you’re asking about product category filter part on the product loop widget.

I’d like to clarify that category filter links on that part aren’t linked directly to each categories. But they are used to show the respective products in the same place without page refresh. The result upon clicking each categories is handled by JavaScript in the background and there is no need to display the category slug in the URL part.

I hope this clarifies things a bit.

Sorry, but the response is not clear to me.

If I understand correctly from your response an example of a category URL such as https://www.thevenetianmasks.com/shop/animals is not possible?

What is only possible would be https://www.thevenetianmasks.com/shop/ ??

Then when I am using the Leto Featured Boxes and one of the Features Boxes is ANIMALS, what would URL would I put in the button Link? It would seem logical to use https://www.thevenetianmasks.com/shop/animals but this is not possible if I understand correctly?

I don’t want to use https://www.thevenetianmasks.com/shop because then what is the point of using Featured Boxes if each box just goes to the main shop page and not a specific category page.

I figured this out.

I was using the Product Loop which would only provide a Link of com/shop while the Product Categories does provide com/product-category/masks/him-masks/ which I can then add to the Featured Boxes for specific categories.
