Can I rename post meta description?

Hello everyone,

I’m here with another question I haven’t found an answer to. I want to rename the post meta information (“Posted in” and “Posted on”). Why ? Because the website I’m designing is in Lithuanian and I want everything to be 100% Lithuanian. I was hoping I could rename the strings directly from theme editor, but when I entered content-single.php I only see the callback function.

<div class="meta-post">
   <?php sydney_posted_on(); ?>
 </div><!-- .entry-meta -->

Is there a plugin that could help to achieve my goal ?
If it’s imposible, what alternative methods can be recommended ?

Thanks in advance

Hello @lextragon,

These strings seem to be translated to Lithuanian. You can check it here:
https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-themes/sydney/lt/default

Did you select Lithuanian language in site settings?

Kind Regards, Roman.

Hello Roman,

Yes, I have found both of them in translations list and they’re green.

Yes, I did have my site language set to Lithuanian before. I now switched to English then back to Lithuanian to check whether it would fix the problem, but unfortunately it didn’t.

Okay @lextragon, please try to do the following.

  1. Go here and export .po and .mo translation files.

  2. Rename exported files to lt_LT.po and lt_LT.mo

  3. Put renamed files into wp-content/themes/sydney/languages folder.

Kind Regards, Roman.

Thank you. It fixed the problem.

P.S. The folder contains sydney.pot file. Is it there to apply the changes when I pick a different language in WP settings ?

You are welcome @lextragon.

I’m not sure what is the purpose of that file.

Kind Regards, Roman.
