Can home page slider use the parallax effect

Morning!

Is there any way to make the home screen slider use the parallax effect and instead of scrolling up, the page below scrolls “on top” of it???

Thanks!
Eric

Dear Eric,

I guess your header slider image isn’t large enough, so it leaves some space at the bottom while scrolling down. Please see this discussion for the solution of such this problem.

Hey Kharis:

I don’t think it’s a matter of size. I think it’s a matter of how it was programmed. If you look at my regular site, www.empowergraphics.net, the main image stays static while the page rises ABOVE it, hence the parallax effect. On the Sydney site I’m creating, the main image scrolls up with the page. I hope I’m making myself clear…

The difference can be seen on this page: http://www.w3schools.com/howto/howto_css_parallax.asp

And maybe, based on info on that page, I can use something like this:
<style>
.parallax {
/* The image used */
background-image: url(“img_parallax.jpg”);

/* Set a specific height */
height: 500px;

/* Create the parallax scrolling effect */
background-attachment: fixed;
background-position: center;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-size: cover;

}
</style>

What should I use instead? And will this work on all slides?
