Breadcrumbs feature request

Hi all,

I know there are <?php sydney_yoast_seo_breadcrumbs(); ?> activated in single.php
I have add <?php sydney_yoast_seo_breadcrumbs(); ?> to page.php This works.
Could you activate <?php sydney_yoast_seo_breadcrumbs(); ?> by default for all pages without the front page?
If that is not possible, could you add a hook place to page.php like <?php do_action('sydney_before_content'); ?> which is in single.php?

I can create a child theme but then I would not get any new updates to sydney theme for this file.

Thanks :slight_smile:

Hello there,

To achieve it, you can use this snippet:

    add_action('sydney_before_content', 'sydney_child_add_page_breadcrumb');
    function sydney_child_add_page_breadcrumb() {
      if( is_page() && !is_front_page() ) {
        sydney_yoast_seo_breadcrumbs();
      }
    }

Add it to your child theme’s functions. Or you can use a plugin that allows extra PHP code addition without any child theme like Code Snippets.

Hi,

I thank you for your reply!
There is not any sydney_before_content-hook in page.php. Because this the breadcrumbs does not appear.
