Blog layout > Masonry issues (grid) improvements

Hey guys

I have two improvements that would make the grid layout much better.

  1. an option to give an post-article a fixed height or to ensure the correct order in some other way.
Reason: If “article 1” is 660 pixels high, “article 2” is 658 pixels high and “article 3” is 659 pixels high, then these look the same. But the layout will then position the fourth article in the middle of the second line, since the second article is the shortest of the first three. The fifth article will then be on the right and the sixth on the left. Doesn’t make sense as a reader.

  2. Reduce the standard number of items in the grid from 10 to 9.
Reason: If there are three articles in a row, the tenth one is all alone on the bottom row and it looks as if there are free places for two more. Which makes no sense if there are more than 10 articles, then there is at least a second overview page.

Did you have the same problems or a solution?
How would you like my suggestions?

Kind regards

Hello there,

Thank you for all your inputs. We really appreciate it.

In order to implement equal height masonry layout, try this jQuery code solution, please.

To limit number of visible post items, you can go to Settings menu > Reading. Set your desired number on the “Blog pages show at most” option.
