Adjusting the Left Margin

#1

Loving this theme but I would like to move the left margin further to the left on a blog post(and ensure it still displays okay on mobile devices).

Is there a way of doing this?

I’m trying to place a banner ad at the top of a post and at the moment the right hand side of the ad is cut off.

Thanks is advance.

Hi,

Maybe you need to increase the width of the content wrapper instead only decreasing the margin left of the page. Please try this CSS code below:

.blog .site-main > .container {
    width: 90%;
}

You can put the code into Customize > additional CSS

Thanks. I’ve inputted the code but it only seems to affect the ‘Home’ page and not my individual posts themselves.

Any ideas? Many thanks

Oh I see… use this for the single post:

.single .site-main > .container {
   width: 90%;
}

Or if you want it to affect to all pages, use this instead:

.site-main > .container {
  width: 90%;
}

Hi

I’ve adjusted the width of the screen using the code you kindly provided. Is it also possible to adjust the height of the header box? It’s currently all black and takes up about 1/2 of the top of the page. I’d still want to incorporate the code you’ve previously provided.

Many thanks and kind regards

Hi,

I think your current header is displayed the ideal size already. But, if you want to reduce it, you can reduce the padding instead, not the image. Use this CSS code below:

.site-header {
    padding-top: 10px;
}
#main-navigation {
    padding-top: 10px;
}
