Adjust width of page occupied by text

Hello,

I would like to alter the width of the page used by the main body of text (e.g. so that it only comes, say, 40% of the way across the screen before going onto the next line).

I’m not much of a techy, and am new to wordpress, but I know how to paste in custom CSS, and have used some on my site already (copy-pasted from existing threads).

Many thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide!

Hello there,

If I got it right, you’d add this CSS code to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS from dashboard.

    .page .post-wrap > article {
      width: 500px;
      max-width: 100%;
      margin-left: auto;
      margin-right: auto;
    }

That’s exactly what I wanted, thanks v much Kharis!

As an extension of this question, is there also any way of having a different width for different paragraphs?

Do you want to apply it in one page? If so, you’d need to use a page builder plugin, that allows flexibility of controlling styles each row in a single page.
