Adjust footer widget area width (not all equal parts)

Currently the footer offered with Sydney theme can have 1 to 3 widget areas. When multiple widget areas are selected, the width of the entire footer is divided in equal parts. I chose 3 parts for my site. How can I make the first part (the pages widget) less wide to allow the other two a wider area to fit larger widgets such as a map and contact info?

Thank you.

Hello there,

You can change each column width using the following CSS code:

@media only screen and (min-width:992px) {

  .footer-widgets .sidebar-column.col-md-4:nth-of-type(1) {
    width: 20%;
  }

  .footer-widgets .sidebar-column.col-md-4:nth-of-type(2) {
    width: 40%;
  }

  .footer-widgets .sidebar-column.col-md-4:nth-of-type(3) {
    width: 40%;
  }

}

To apply to your site, add it into Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS.
