Adding SubMenu to Sydney

Hello, I was asked to add drop down menus to the current one and I wanted to know what was the best way to accomplish this? I saw this article that shows how to do this in general, but I wanted to ensure that this was the best or only method with your fantastic theme.

Hello there,

To create a sub menu, you can use the drag-drop feature. Please see this screencast https://cloudup.com/c5pIHnC8Twu

I hope this reply helps.

Hello Kharis,

Is there a way to change the apprearance of the submenu.
It looks no good on my site: Big black drop down boxes, not so subtle
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello there,

In order to accomplish that objective, could you please try to apply the following CSS code through the Simple Custom CSS plugin or child theme’s style.css?

#mainnav .sub-menu li a {
 background: #ff0000;
 border-top-color: #fff000;
}

#mainnav .sub-menu li:hover > a {
  color: #fff000;
  background: #000;
}

You should need to adjust the hex color values as needed.

Hello there,

To remove it, you can add this code:

#mainnav ul li ul:after {
  display: none;
}

How do you change the text colour?

Hello there,

You can use this code:

#mainnav .sub-menu li a {
  color: #fff000;
}

#mainnav .sub-menu li a:hover {
  color: #ff0000;
}

Hi Kharis,

I’ve used this code to remove the line between the submenu items but it does not seems to work:

    #mainnav ul li ul:after {
      display: none;
    }

is there maybe another way to achieve this?

Thanks in advance

Hello there,

Try this code:

    #mainnav .sub-menu li a {
      border-top: none;
    }

Kharis
