Add In Transparent Background

#1

I’m trying to add a transparent black background on my homepage that just covers the logo and menu… so basically a strip, just as a header

If I use the “inspect element” function on my browser it appears that the section I’m trying to change is the site-header, and in the browser I can manipulate it to look exactly how I want but when I add in the following custom CSS code, it’s not having any effect:

.site-header {
background-color: rgba(0,0,0,0.6) !important;
}

Any thoughts on why this isn’t working and what I can do to get the desired effect?

Thanks

Hello,

where are you adding the code?

#3

I’m entering it using the Custom CSS feature on my wordpress account

Did you tried another code or do you have any working code there?

Maybe provide us a link to your site, then we can find out whether there are other issues with the code.
